Update 7/29: There was no press conference, nor a snag with the contract with Cox Media Group as Kevin, Virginia and Jason debuted on Digity Media Hot AC 97.9 WRMF this morning.
Update 7/21: 3:00pm came with no announcement from the KVJ Show as Cox Media Group did not let the show out of their contract.
WPTV reports that the press conference was postponed indefinitely. WPTV states that Kevin, Virginia, and Jason were set to announce they would be joining Digity Media Hot AC 97.9 WRMF as current WRMF morning host Jennifer Ross is shifting to sister AC “Sunny 107.9” WEAT.
Palm Beach Broadcasting (97.9 WRMF and WEAT, Sunny 107.9) a subsidiary of Digity LLC announced today perennial #1 morning radio host Jennifer Ross is returning to the chair she held for many years on Sunny 107.9 (WEAT) along with her cohosts Deena Lang and Bill Adams.
Jennifer Ross, said, “I’ve come full circle returning to Sunny, a place I’ve always thought of as home. The Sunny audience and I have grown up together, I guess we all have a few life stories to share, be it our kids, grandkids, husbands or in my case, ex-husbands or next husbands! I look forward to waking up with Sunny audience and to this next chapter in my radio life.”
“We are very excited to offer the community and our advertisers the best morning shows in the market. Moving Jennifer Ross to Sunny 107.9 along with our excellent portfolio of shows including JD, Tiny and Chelsea on 103.1 WIRK; and Steve Harvey and Reggie Dee on WMBX, X102.3, I’m confident we have the best morning line-up in town. Live and Local radio is the foundation of our company” said Elizabeth Hamma, Palm Beach Broadcasting Market Manager.
Starting tomorrow morning, Jennifer, Deena and Bill will be heard on both WRMF and Sunny. This will continue until Tuesday, July 29th at which time Palm Beach Broadcasting will debut a new WRMF morning show.
Joe Raineri, who currently co-hosts mornings with Ross at WRMF has exited.
Original Report 7/20: The Kevin, Virginia and Jason show has set a 3:00pm announcement on Monday, July 21 to announce their new on-air home.
The trio exited mornings at Cox Media’s “Hits 97.3” WFLC Miami at the end of April after just a nine month stay. They previously worked at Clear Channel’s “Wild 95.5” WLDI West Palm Beach for fourteen years.
On Twitter host Kevin Rolston has teased that the show will be able to be heard as far south as Dade County and as far north as Port St. Lucie. If that’s not being exaggerated, Digity Hot AC 97.9 WRMF or a Clear Channel simulcast in both markets have to be seen as the most likely destination for the show.
The announcement will be made on the show’s UStream channel from Revolutions Sports Theatre in West Palm Beach.
Hmmm, given that the next Monday, July 20th is in 2015, they sure are waiting a long time…
