Denny Schaffer is returning the market where he spent the majority of his radio career.
Schaffer is joining Cumulus Hot AC “Star 105” WWWM-FM Sylvania/Toledo, OH for mornings beginning Monday, September 22. He spent most of the 1990’s in mornings at crosstown CHR “92.5 Kiss-FM” WVKS before segueing to Talk first at 1370 WSPD and then in Atlanta. Schaffer exited mornings at Clear Channel Conservative Talk 99.5 WRNO New Orleans in late August.
Cumulus announces that popular radio personality Denny Schaffer will host an all-new morning show for the new Star 105 WWWM. Schaffer’s new weekday show debuts on Monday, September 22, from 6:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. EST. This marks a return to Toledo for Schaffer, who formerly hosted shows on Toledo’s WSPD and WVKS. Most recently, Schaffer hosted the morning show on WRNO-FM in New Orleans. Prior to that, he was a radio fixture in Atlanta, hosting shows on WGKA/920 and 640 WGST-AM.
Joining Schaffer on the Star 105 morning show are Tricia Courtney Tischler and Suzie Moser (“Suzie the Board Op”), who were part of “The Breakfast Show” with Schaffer at WVKS.
Andy Stuart, Regional Vice President & Market Manager for Cumulus Toledo said: “Denny is a magnificent talent. His ability to engage an audience is rare and we are all looking forward to working with him on the new Star 105. Our desire to bring him back to Toledo is further evidence of the commitment Cumulus Media has to attracting great talent to our company.”
Schaffer said: “To come home to work with Andy Stuart again and for a company like Cumulus is a blessing! Cumulus gets that talent drives the medium and I’m ready to shake up morning drive once again!”
