Matt Scarano is returning to iHeartMedia’s Chicago cluster as Market President.
Scarano formerly served as Director of Sales from 2009 until 2012 before being promoted to Market President of the company’s Atlanta cluster. He replaces Earl Jones who has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Urban Operations for the company. Jones has been President of Chicago for Clear Channel/iHeartMedia since 2005.
As VP/Urban Operations, Jones will “develop and implement Urban sales and programming initiatives and strategies to generate revenue for the Chicago, New York, Dallas, Miami, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Jacksonville and Orlando markets, as well as iHeartMedia Urban stations throughout the country. He will use his extensive experience, insight and leadership to drive results, innovation, growth and client relationships for the Urban format, as well as identify strengths and potential opportunities for the brands across the company.”
I still can’t get over that name “Heart Media”. Cheap Channel have made themselves sound like a greeting card company or bible-thumper syndicator.
Refer to what I said earlier about Chanel #5 versus dog crap.
