Translator Moves
Orlando has been one of the biggest hotbeds of translator activity and this week sees three more moves.
The bigger of the moves have already been granted and will see Salem basically swap frequencies of two translators in the market. The CP for 94.9 W235CI Oviedo becomes 105.5 W288CJ with 250 watts at 65 meters rebroadcasting Conservative Talk “660 The Answer” WORL Orlando (Coverage Map). That move will enable 105.5 W288BI Deltona to move to 94.9 in Orlando with 250 watts at 134 meters rebroadcasting Christian Preaching 950 WTLN Orlando (Coverage Map).
Also in Orlando, Central Florida Educational Association files to modify its recently acquired 93.3 W227CP Orlando. W227CP seeks to operate with 217 watts at 45 meters rebroadcasting Gospel “G106.3” 88.3 WPOZ-HD3 Union Park (Coverage Map).
In what appears to be a procedural move to prevent another signal from encroaching in, Bridgelight LLC’s 94.3 W232AL Pomona, NY is applying for new 80 watt at 252 meter facilities at its former location. W232AL moved its tower site in August to the former WFAS-FM facility in White Plains where Cumulus resurrected the WFAS brand and AC format. By making this application Cumulus/Bridgelight also has a backup plan for three years from the time of granting in case of a displacement or interference claim (Coverage Map). Scott Fybush will have more details on this move in Monday’s Northeast Radio Watch at Fybush.com.

GoForth Media proposes changes to two of its Alabama translators. 103.5 W278AP Spanish Fort will relocate to 103.3 in Mobile with 195 watts at 119 meters (Coverage Map). Concurrently 103.7 W279AT Loxley will also move to 103.3 in Spanish Fort with 250 watts at 228 meters (Coverage Map). The pair will cover the Mobile market rebroadcasting Christian Preaching 840 WBHY Mobile.
