Hubbard Acquires 16 Minnesota Stations

Original Report 11/13: Hubbard Broadcasting has announced the acquisition of the sixteen stations in Northern and Central Minnesota currently owned by Lou Buron and Mary Campbell’s Omni Broadcasting.

Also known as Paul Bunyan Broadcasting, the stations involved in the purchase are located in the Alexandria, Brainerd, Bemidji, and Wadena markets in Minnesota. The stations are:

  • Alexandria: Oldies “Cool 94.3” KULO Alexandria and Country “100.7 Kik-FM” KIKV Saux Center
  • Brainerd: Country “B93.3” KBLB Nisswa, Oldies “Cool 103.5” KUAL-FM Brainerd, AC 106.7 WJJY-FM Brainerd, Classic Rock “107.5 The Power Loon” KLIZ-FM Brainerd, Business 1340 KVBR Brainerd, and Sports “1380 The Fan” KLIZ Brainerd
  • Bemidji: AC “KZY 95.5” KKZY Bemidji, Classic Rock “Z99.1” KLLZ-FM Walker, Country “KB101” 101.1 KBHP Bemidji, Classic Hits 104.5 WQXJ Blackduck, and Sports 1450 KBUN/94.9 K235BP Bemidji
  • Wadena: Country “K106” 105.9 KKWS Wadena and Classic Country simulcast 920 KWAD Wadena/1430 KNSP Staples
  • Hubbard already owns KSAX-TV 42 in Alexandria, which operates as a satellite rebroadcaster of sister KSTP-TV 5 Minneapolis. Hubbard currently owns radio stations in Chicago, Cincinnati, Minneapolis, Phoenix, Seattle, St. Louis, and Washington DC. Hubbard states that it intends to add 100 employees through the purchase and does not expect any programming or personnel changes.
