The move positions K297AK up against Townsquare Media’s “Tri 102.5” KTRR.
Original Report 11/13: For the second time in three years iHeartMedia is launching a translator signal in Fort Collins, CO with Christmas music.
Today iHeart launched “Santa 107.3” K297AK Loveland, CO rebroadcasting 97.9 KXBG-HD2 Cheyenne, WY. The translator is owned by Mountain Community Translators and had been rebroadcasting Christian “Pilgrim Radio” 88.7 KDNR South Greeley, WY.
After the holidays it appears the translator will segue to AC or Classic Hits as Sunny1073.com was registered along with Santa1073.com. If AC, such a move would position 107.3 up against Townsquare Media’s “Tri 102.5” KTRR.
In November 2012, then Clear Channel launched 94.9 K235BT as “Christmas 94.9“. After a few months as “Fox Sports 94.9“, K235BT segued to AAA “Radio 94.9” in May 2013.
