1070 107.5 The Fan WFNI Indianapolis EmmisEmmis Communications has expanded its Indianapolis cluster with the purchase of 93.5 W228CX Frankfort, IN from Kaspar Broadcasting for $512,000. W228CX holds a CP with a Mattoon Waiver to relocate into Indianapolis where it will rebroadcast Emmis’ Sports “1070 The Fan” WFNI Indianapolis. As we detailed last week in our subscriber exclusive Daily Domains, 107.5 W298BB Indianapolis will drop its partial simulcast of WFNI to go ESPN Radio 24/7 once W228CX signs-on.

Station Sales

An AM CP just outside Las Vegas is transferred from one company owned by Shubh Khanna to another for $1. Automated Business Services Incorporated transfers 1020 in Blue Diamond, NV to Management Accounting Services. The 1020 CP will operate with 5kW day and 250 watts night when built. Its CP is set to expire in September 2016.

When Great Scott Broadcasting exited the Salisbury/Ocean City market last year its holdings were split between Adams Radio and The Voice Radio Network. Adams is now transferring 900 WJWL and 100.3 W262BF Georgetown, DE to The Voice for $60,000. The Voice is already operating WJWL via Time Brokerage Agreement to simulcast its Spanish CHR “Maxima 95.3” WKDB Laurel, DE. Once the sale is completed Adams and The Voice will each own 1 AM, 4 FMs, and a translator in the market.

Seehafer Broadcasting is completing a monopoly in the Manitowac/Two Rivers, WI area between Green Bay and Milwaukee with the purchase of Country 900 WCUB Two Rivers and Oldies 92.1 WLTU Manitowac from Cub Radio, Inc. for $925,000. Seehafer already owns Talk/AC 1240 WOMT Manitowac, AC “Lake 98.1” WLKN Cleveland and Classic Rock “Q102” 102.3 WQTC Manitowac and is in the process of purchasing Soft AC 98.9 WEMP-FM Two Rivers.

The newly formed WXKO Inc. is making two purchases in the Macon, GA area. The company, with 33.3% stakes each held by John Timms, Martha Leverette, and Christopher Murray is buying Classic Country 1150 WXKO Fort Valley and 105.9 W290BD Montezuma, GA from Sun Broadcasting for $55,000 and the CP for 93.1 W226BZ Macon from Clyde Scott, Jr. for $36,000.

Del Reynolds sells 1340 WMTE and 101.5 WMTE-FM Manistee, MI to Todd Mohr’s Mitten Media for $1,000.

Steven J. Gilinsky is buying out his partners in GM Broadcasting Hot AC “Magic 101.7” WLTB Johnson City/Binghamton and 102.5 W273AB Owego, NY. Glinsky is purchasing the 75% of the station he does not possess from Thomas Mollen for $250,000.

Monte Spearman’s High Plains Radio Network is acquiring 92.7 KYMT Gassville, 94.3 KCMC-FM Viola, and 97.1 KJMT Calico Rock, AR from Malvern Entertainment Group for $820,000.

Nelly Broadcasting Idaho purchases Country 1230 KORT and 92.7 KORT-FM Grangeville, ID and translators 92.1 K221BA Kamiah and 95.9 K240AP Pierce, ID from 4-K Radio for $75,000.

Greg and Marcia Jablonski’s Livingston Radio Company is selling Classic Rock 93.5 WHMI-FM Howell, MI to Krol Communications for $3.5 million.

Positive Alternative Radio is donating 88.9 WJYW Union City, 94.5 W233AN Richmond, and 97.7 W249BG Richmond, IN to Star Educational Media Network. WJYW and the two translators will become satellites of Christian AC “Star 88.3” WLAB Fort Wayne via Time Brokerage Agreement starting August 15.

Dan and Kim Dockstader are acquiring 1210 KRSV and 98.7 KRSV-FM Afton, WY from the Jerry and Jenny Family Trust for $900,000.

Southern Oregon University purchases 91.1 KHEC Crescent City, CA from Onda de Vida Network for $10,000.

Translator Sales

Family Stations sells 105.3 W287AB Albany, NY to Paul Vandenburgh’s Capital Broadcasting for $50,000 with a clause that any upgrades to increase service area within the next three years will pay $1.73 per ten persons added to the service area up to $75,000. W287AB is currently licensed to rebroadcast Family’s 91.7 WFRH Kingston, NY but will like transition to Capital “Talk 1300” WGDJ Rensselaer.

Samuel Stratemeyer purchases the CP for 103.3 W277CH Woodlawn-Oakdale, KY from Edgewater Broadcasting for $35,000. As we reported last week, an employee of Stratemeyer registered Duke1033.com for the translator which will rebroadcast 750 WRIK Metropolis, IL/Paducah, KY.

Educational Media Foundation acquires 94.3 K232CU Green River, WY and 107.7 K299AG Rock Springs, WY from Edgewater for $10.

Eagle’s Nest, Inc. acquires 94.7 W234BQ Auburn, AL from Pat Jarrell for $42,000. W234BQ rebroadcasts the buyer’s Sports 1340 WLWE Roanoke, AL.

Manhattan Broadcasting Company buys the CP for 93.7 K229CW Manhattan, KS from the University of Kansas for $7,500 to rebroadcast their News/Talk 1350 KMAN Manhattan.

American Educational Broadcasting sells 104.5 K283AR Chico, CA to Butte Broadcasting Company for $5000. K283AR rebroadcasts the buyer’s Christian 930 KKXX Paradise/Chico.

John Fiori buys 93.3 K227CV Blythe, CA and 107.1 K296GR Quartzsite, AZ from Horizon Christian Fellowship for $7500.

Washington State University buys 97.5 K248CN Ariel, WA from Pacific Lutheran University for $10,000. K248CN will rebroadcast Public News/Talk 88.9 KSWS Chehalis/Centralia, WA.
