Two Catholic station operators are combining as La Promesa Foundation is acquiring Divine Word Communications and their seven stations and four translators in Alabama and Florida.
The Midland, TX based La Promesa operates the “Guadalupe Radio Network” with stations in New Mexico, Texas, and Washington DC. The purchase will add the following stations from Divine Word: 88.3 WJUV Cullman AL, 88.7 WQOH-FM Springville AL, 90.1 WDLG Thomasville AL, 102.7 WPHK Blountstown FL, 1000 WYBT Blountstown, 1230 WDWR/103.3 W277CC Pensacola FL, 1480 WQOH Irondale/92.7 W224CK Vestavia Hills AL, and W262AR Brewton as well as the LMA of 1330 WCVC Tallahassee, which will be rebroadcast on Divine Word’s 96.9 W245CB Tallahassee. La Promesa Foundation will pay $1,073,907.59 in cash for the stations as well as assume $318,907.59 in debt owed to creditors.
