Midwest Acquires I106.7 Nashville

Lance Ventaby Lance Venta
February 9, 2016

Midwest Communications i106.7 106.7 WNFN NashvilleMidwest Communications is expanding its holdings in Nashville with the purchase of CHR “I106.7” WNFN Millersville TN from the Joule Broadcasting Trust for $3.75 million.

WNFN will become Midwest’s third station in the market joining AC “Mix 92.9” WJXA and Variety Hits “96.3 Jack-FM” WCJK. WNFN has been in the divestment trust since the 2011 merger with Citadel Broadcasting gave it seven FM’s in the Nashville market.

As one of two CHR’s in the Nashville market, WNFN registered a 2.8 share in the Holiday 2015 Nielsen Audio PPM ratings. That placed it well behind iHeartMedia’s “107.5 The River” WRVW’s 7.3 share.

Midwest Communications, Inc. has agreed to purchase the assets of radio station WNFN (FM), licensed to Millersville (Nashville), TN, from Joule Broadcasting, LLC.

Duke Wright, President and CEO of Midwest Communications, Inc. commented, “We love Nashville and are delighted to be able to add WNFN to our growing Midwest Family. We have enjoyed measurable success since entering the Nashville Market and have no doubt that WNFN will be a terrific complement to our existing radio brands, WJXA and WCJK.”

Media Services Group exclusively represented Joule Broadcasting, LLC, in this transaction.
