RadioInsight - Domain Insight 9/9: Will Atlanta Still Get Its Kicks?

Cumulus Media's registrar has reserved a number of domains pointing to a rebranding of Country " Kicks 101.5 " WKHX Atlanta. The domains registered were GenuineCountry1015.com , MyCountry1015.com , NewCountry1015.com , TheNewCountry1015.com , TrueCountry1015.com , and YourCountry1015.com . There also appear to be decoy domains of NewRock1015.com and TheBone1015.com . Cumulus recently rebranded 96.3 KSCS Dallas as " New Country 96.3 ", making that the likely end result. WKHX currently ranks fifteenth in the Atlanta market with a 2.9 share in the August Nielsen Audio ratings. That trails iHeartMedia's " 94.9 The Bull " WUBL and its ninth ranked 4.5 share. The station has also been without a Program Director since Brian Thomas departed in March. It also parted ways with longtime morning host Cadillac Jack in July. Midwest Communications has registered 1027WFAT.com for what is now R&B " The Touch " 930 WTOU/102.7 W274AQ Battle Creek MI. The company has also applied to place the WFAT call letters on 930 and move WTOU to 1560 WNWN Portage/Kalamazoo, which along with 95.5 W238AL Portage currently carries the same programming as 930/102.7. The WFAT calls have heritage in the market on Midwest's 96.5 Portage from 1992 until 2008 under multiple formats including CHR, AC and Classic Rock.
