Multiple sources inside and outside the Chicago market tell us that Audacy is on the verge of bringing Sports "<a href="https://www.audacy.com/670thescore">670 The Score</a>" WSCR Chicago to FM. The move, which is likely to take place in time for the Cubs season opener on Thursday, March 30, is expected to see the Sports format replace Classic Hip Hop "<a href="https://www.audacy.com/1043jams">104.3 Jams</a>" WBMX. The changes would also see CHR "<a href="https://www.audacy.com/b96">B96</a>" WBBM-FM absorb some of WBMX's programming with WBBM-FM placing a stronger emphasis on golds and the transfer of some of its staffers. We are also told that Audacy Chairman/CEO David Field is set to be in Chicago mid-week for the changes. <img src="https://radioinsight.com/wp-content/images/2016/11/wscr-200x200.png" alt="Terry Boers Dan Bernstein 670 The Score WSCR Chicago" width="200" height="200" class="alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-109405" />Chicago is one of the few markets that has yet to see on of its big AM Sports talkers migrate to FM. WSCR currently <a href="https://radioinsight.com/ratings/chicago/">ranks 23rd in the market</a> with a 1.7 share, while Good Karma Brands' "<a href="https://goodkarmabrands.com/espn-chicago/">ESPN 1000</a>" WMVP is 25th with a 1.0 share. The market briefly had a third competitor on FM in Tribune Media's short-lived "<strong>87.7 The Game</strong>" WGWG-LP, which lasted ten months in 2014. The move of WSCR to FM comes as <a href="https://radioinsight.com/headlines/244589/chicago-bears-to-move-to-espn-1000/">WMVP will add the NFL's Chicago Bears</a> play-by-play later this year. The Score is home to MLB's Chicago Cubs and NBA's Chicago Bulls, while WMVP also is the flagship for MLB's Chicago White Sox. While "<strong>104.3 Jams</strong>" is currently thirteenth in the Chicago market with a 2.6 share and "<strong>B96</strong>" is 22nd at a 1.8 share, the equity of the B96 brand is still more valuable to retain and is currently outbilling WBMX. It has been suggested that in addition to the absorption of some of WBMX's Classic Hip Hop that the move would enable WBBM-FM to add additional 90s and 2000s golds that the brand played in its heyday.
