Cumulus Media is making a pair of format changes in Florence SC on Monday, August 28.
Hot AC “Q100.5” WQPD Marion will move to what is now “Classic Country 100.1” WWFN-FM Lake City/920 WYMB Manning. The move shift the WQPD programming from the Class C3 signal that covers Florence from the north, to the Class A 100.1 signal that reaches Florence and areas south including Lake City.
The Classic Country format on 100.1 will not make the reverse move to 100.5. Cumulus appears to be flipping that station to Sports as “100.5 The Game” as 1005TheGame.com was registered in late July. That would match the branding used by sister “107.5 The Game” WNKT Eastover in the adjoining Columbia market hinting at perhaps a simulcast of local programming. WWFN-FM had previously been Sports as “100.1 The Fan” running CBS Sports Radio network programming until flipping to Classic Country in March 2021.
