The move does not appear to have any impact on the brand's coverage. But since iHeart leases both translators from other licensees, that would appear to be the cause for this change. 104.1 W281AB is owned by Richardson Broadcasting Company, but has been programmed by iHeart as " The Beat " since July 2011 . Richards owns Talk/Blues/R&B Oldies 1400 WJLD Fairfield/Birmingham. That station has been rebroadcast on Christopher Johnson's 94.1 W231DE Birmingham, but its current CP identifies Red Mountain Ventures leased Regional Mexican " El Patron " 1450 WZGX Bessemer as its future parent signal. That company also owns the license for W276BQ. The Beat's social media pages have already been updated with the new logo see above. In the November 2024 Nielsen Audio ratings , " 104.1 The Beat " has a 2.3 share. " 103.1 The Vulcan " was at a 1.0. Is New York's pop-up Hot AC " TJ 98.7 " WEPN-FM about to wind down? A trio of anonymously domains registered on on GoDaddy's platform before Christmas point at a Spanish language or Bilingual format for the signal with 987Exitos.com , 987ExitosNY.com , and 987ExitosNewYork.com . Those were followed a couple days later by similar 987LaExitosa.com and LaExitosa987.com . Our expectation if these domains are legitimate but fully speculative would be the Bilingual AC format currently growing in Hispanic heavy markets, one that in theory could create a strong competitor to iHeartMedia AC " 106.7 Lite-FM " WLTW. We do not have any idea on a potential operator, however the only current New York commercial FM group who use GoDaddy for domain registration is MediaCo, owners of Hip Hop " Hot 97 " WQHT and Adult R&B 107.5 WBLS . Emmis' current six month LMA to United Stations Radio Networks to operate the station runs through February 28 although the deal allows Emmis to terminate the deal at any moment with 30 days written notice, but could also be extended.
