A change is imminent at Connoisseur Media Classic Rock “96.9 The Rock” WWUZ Bowling Green/Fredericksburg VA where the station is stunting with a loop of songs with some connection in the title to war, gunshots and artillery.
Among the songs being heard are Classic Rock staples such as Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love A Bad Name” and “Blaze of Glory”, AC/DC’s “For Those About To Rock”, “TNT” and “Thunderstruck”, Black Sabbath “War Pigs”, Kiss “Love Gun”, and Edwin Starr “War” plus Shinedown “45” and Cranberries “Zombie” and Oldies like Nancy Sinatra “Bang Bang” and Junior Walker & The All Stars “Shotgun”. Imaging is promoting that “Something Loud Coming”, while the station’s website is counting down to Monday, October 19 at 6am with an interactive cannon to shoot.
WWUZ had a 1.6 share in the Spring 2026 Nielsen Audio ratings.
