Bill Cain will host “The Morning X” followed by Mojo’s “Rock & Roll Sideshow” in middays and Amber Lee at night. Afternoons will be filled in the near future.

Original Report 5/10: Last month Midwest Communications agreed to purchase “ESPN Sports Radio” 1300 WBOW and AC 102.7 WBOW-FM Terre Haute from Crossroads Communications for $1.3 Million.

The acquisition will lead to a pair of format changes in the cluster. 1300 has been simulcasting 92.7 WSDM and will be unable to continue to do so. The registrations of Fox1300.com and FoxSports1300.com by Midwest point to a separate Sports format fed by Premiere Radio Networks’ Fox Sports Radio. The other registration, 959TheEdge.com points to a shifting towards a broader or current Rock format at Classic Rock “95.9 The Valley” WWSY. These are the only stations that Midwest owns on either frequency clearly indicating the domains are for use in Terre Haute.

Midwest also owns “Paris Country” 1440 WPRS, News/Talk 98.5 WIBQ, and CHR “100.7 Mix-FM” WMGI in Terre Haute. Once the deal closes Crossroads will retain “ESPN Sports Radio” 92.7 WSDM and Classic Rock 104.9 WAXI.

They’re probably about ready to clone WVIC Lansing. It should be noted, Midwest tries to target Kalamazoo with WVIC, because of it’s college town status

Terre Haute is also a college town.

We’ll see if anyone listens. College kids don’t listen to radio these days, and Terre Haute is a poor excuse for a “college town”, and ISU is a poor excuse for a college. Guess you have the tech heads at Rose Hulman.

Also, the morning guy will probably be the only local talent, with the rest being a Midwest smucks voice tracking from cheese country.
