Original Report 8/29: After signing on this past March, the programming of Townsquare Media Urban “Hot 99.1” W256BU Albany NY looks to be on the way towards getting an upgrade to a full powered signal in the market.
Townsquare registered Hot1057Albany.com and Crush991Albany.com on Monday. That would lead to a frequency swap with “Hot 99.1” shifting to what is currently the home of Gen X Hits “105.7 Crush-FM” WQSH Malta while the 90’s oriented format goes in reverse. The 99.1 signal operates with 250 watts from northeast of Albany. The 105.7 signal is a Class B1 operating with 7.1kW at 187 meters. Townsquare Albany recently cut ties with WQSH Program Director Terry O’Donnell and Rob Dawes, PD of sister Rock “Q103” 103.9 WQBK/103.5 WQBJ.
Townsquare does hold a few decoy domains from before Hot launched in March: Sunny991Albany.com and 991TheMountain.com.
