As the HR Generalist, you will provide professional level support in areas related to Human Resources, including responsibilities in benefits administration and payroll, HR compliance and reporting, on/offboarding, and recruitment to ensure consistency, while being aware of legal and cultural requirements. This role reports directly to the Director, Human Resources.

Job Summary
Benefits Administration:

  • Coordinate enrollment and ensure appropriate information sent to payroll
  • Data entry into HR and benefits systems or to benefits broker
  • Process 403b enrollment, changes and loans
  • Assist employees with basic benefits questions
  • Supports Open Enrollment process & HRIS benefit set-up
  • Data entry for benefits changes and COBRA administration
  • Process Disability & Worker’s Comp claims paperwork
  • FMLA calendar tracking
  • Billing reconciliation
  • Contact benefits carriers with billing concerns and general questions
  • Post SPD’s and other benefits related documents to intranet and mail out notices as needed

HR Compliance:

  • Administer FMLA
  • Various Reporting to include File EEO-1, US Census, NDT, etc.
  • Process Workers Comp claims and maintain files
  • Complete OSHA reporting

Employee Onboard/Offboard:

  • Ensure proper data entry to various HR systems.
  • Remove access for termed employees to all systems and carrier sites
  • Back-up for HR Specialist in new employee orientation.

Administration:

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems
  • Support Performance Management process
  • Create and process Personnel Action Notices
  • Assist with All Staff functions/activities (Staff Retreat/Christmas)
  • Assist with Employee Engagement Surveys

Talent Acquisition:

  • Process job requisitions, post positions
  • Screen and interview applicants
  • Provide top recommended applicants to hiring manager
  • Coordinate with Director, HR for salary recommendation
  • Extend verbal and written contingent job offers
  • Coordinate relocation reimbursements
  • Coordinate background checks
  • Conduct Reference Checks
  • Back-up for the Recruiter/HR Generalist in full cycle recruiting

  • Committed to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Be spiritually grounded and biblically literate.
  • Comfortable praying for co-workers in team meetings, leading spoken prayer, and participating in ministry prayer meetings and Bible studies.
  • Lives by the Christian principles defined by the Ministry Statement of Faith.
  • Participates in on-air fundraisers and prays for donors as needed.
  • Has a passion for leveraging the platform of radio for evangelism and discipleship.
  • Exhibits a strong moral character.
  • Is an active member of a Bible believing local church.

Requirements and Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with some college or HR relevant training
  • HR or SHRM certification, required

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Capable working in fast paced environment and flexible
  • Multi-task, and handle frequent interruptions and shifting priorities
  • Creative and enthusiastic, team player
  • Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective writing skills and excellent grammatical usage and style

  • Provides thoughtful feedback in appropriate situations
  • Maintains a high level of diplomacy and confidentiality in all dealings with others
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and employ effective time management skills
  • Must have strong teamwork mentality
  • Bilingual – Spanish (preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Heart for Christian ministry
  • Strong moral character
  • Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Spiritually grounded and working knowledge of scripture
  • Must be an active member of a Bible believing local church

  •  None.

The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
