WGAN Adds FM Signal

Saga News/Talk 560 WGAN Portland, ME has signed-on 105.5 W288CU Portland to bring its programming to the FM band. The translator operates with 200 watts at 80 meters rebroadcasting WGAN via 93.1 WMGX-HD2 (Coverage Map). Saga acquired the translator in April from Radio Assist Ministry in exchange for a tower site lease.

Following their acquisition of 102.9 WDRC-FM Hartford, Connoisseur Media has filed to adjust the patterns of it and adjacent channel sister 103.1 WBZO Bay Shore, NY. Both stations will retain their current tower heights and power; 19.5kW at 247 meters for WDRC-FM and 1.55kW at 141 meters for WBZO. WDRC-FM will adjust from non-directional to a directional array, while WBZO will shift to non-directional. The move will allow WBZO to put a city-grade signal over the north shore of Long Island with less interference from WDRC-FM. The translator simulcasts Clear Channel News/Talk 610 WIOD Miami.
