Job Summary:

The Vida Unida Network Program Director helps to connect people more deeply to God through the strategic growth and development of Spanish language Christian radio. Serving as a key leader within the programming team, the program director leads all aspects of network and localized radio programming in alignment with Hope Media Group’s mission, vision and values. Leadership areas include music rotations, imaging, promotions, community appearances & service projects in collaboration with key stakeholders. This is a strategic role that casts vision to serve individual cities with localized content, plus a digital stream that acts as its own radio station. The Network Program Director sets the standard for Spanish language radio content that connects people more deeply to God as a member of the on-air team.   Hope Media Group the home of KSBJ, WayFM, Vida Unida and NGEN radio. This position resides in Humble, TX (Greater Houston Area).

Essential Functions:

Leadership:

  • Strategic leadership for a network of localized Vida Unida radio stations. Ability to build strategy that utilizes technology to localize content and connect listeners in community.
  • Execute a product that sets the standard for Spanish Language Christian radio on terrestrial and digital platforms.
  • Formulate strategies for attracting, maintaining, and increasing audience.
  • Lead weekly music meetings, build music research projects and develop a playlist that grows Vida Unida listenership.
  • Schedule music, imaging and daily logs.
  • Monitor quality, accuracy, and content for a flawless network sound. Attention to detail is key.
  • Experience leading and shepherding an air team in spiritual growth.
  • Provide weekly coaching to on air talent.
  • Develop morning show strategy the connects on the air, through imaging and in the digital space.
  • Coach & mentor the air team n how to develop content that moves listeners toward a next step in their faith journey.

On Air Show:

  • Set the standard for Spanish-Christian radio content by hosting a daily radio show that connects people more deeply to God and is relevant to the Christian-Spanish speaking audience.
  • Biblically literate and able to confidently share spiritual truth and faith in context that is easy to understand and relevant.

Fundraising:

  •  Proactively develop year-round fundraising messaging.
  •  Proactively lead Support Drive / Sharathon fundraisers.
  •  Represent Spanish Brand at Donor Engagement / fundraising events.
  •  Brainstorm with Business Development team to develop unique promotions and partnerships.

Cross-Departmental  Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with Creative Audio Services to ensure all produced messaging is consistent with mission, vision, values and strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with Marketing department to ensure all external and digital marketing align with market research and industry best practice.
  • Collaborate with Digital Content  team to develop creative video content that grows the Vida Unida brand.
  • Collaborate with Special Events  department on concert opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Promotions team  and represent in the community, as needed.
  • Participate in organizational  project teams as required.

Demonstrated Faith:

  • Pray for coworkers in team meetings
  • Lead prayer in large group settings as needed
  • Pray for donors when called upon to do so
  • Use  Christian principles to work through conflict as outlined by the culture tool kit
  • Participate in on-air fundraisers and pray for donors over the phone as needed
  • Participate in ministry wide Christian bible studies
  • Attend  Weekly Staff Gatherings for prayer and devotions

Non-Essential Functions:

  •  Any other duties assigned

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 4 years related experience

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years Broadcasting experience as Program Director, Assistant PD, or related experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be bilingual with fluent proficiency to both Spanish and English-speaking audiences.
  • Working knowledge of radio scheduling/broadcasting software and applications, including Zetta, G-Selector, VoxPro, Audio Post-Editing tools (such as ProTools or Adobe Audition).
  • Experience building strategy that drives Nielsen PPM ratings.
  • Detail oriented and proactive.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to positively lead and influence others and align a team to mission, vision, values and organizational goals.
  • Experience creating & coaching radio content that connects people more deeply to God.
  • Biblically literate and able to articulate a Christian worldview through media content.
  • Highly creative, an idea generator, an innovator
  • Joyful attitude and sense of humor
  • Remarkable, compelling on-air personality
  • Skilled storyteller
  • Established base of social media followers, preferred
  • Proven ability to create and engage a tribe of fans
  • Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Spiritually grounded and working knowledge of scripture
  • Must be an active member of a Bible believing local church

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Immediate supervision over a unit, section or department.
  • Recommends candidates for hiring, termination; prepares and conducts performance appraisals and salary reviews, and applies company policies.

Working Conditions and Environment:

Travel: 

  • For industry conferences & radio station promotions in the cities we serve

Nights/Weekends/Holidays: 

  • Occasionally
