People Moves 4/16: Michelle Boros Departs KAMP

Michelle Boros has resigned her postion as Music Director/Midday host at Entercom CHR “97.1 Amp Radio” KAMP Los Angeles after eight years with the station. Prior to joining KAMP, Boros programmed and hosted afternoons on CHR “20 on 20” for XM Satellite Radio and worked in the Dallas market. Entercom News 950 WWJ Detroit has added Brooke Allen as afternoon co-anchor alongside Greg Bowman. Allen returns to WWJ from Michigan State University’s 870 WKAR Lansing where she served as the local anchor for NPR’s Morning Edition. CBS Cuts Hit Miami & Pittsburgh

The names of the people who have been cut from CBS Radio in the past week continue to make their way out. Sports 560 WQAM Miami has dropped Adam Kuperstein and former Miami Dolphin Channing Crowder from their 1-3pm show. Orlando “Big O” Alzugaray adds an additional hour to run 10am-2pm, Marc Hochman with Zach Krantz slides up an hour to run 2-6pm, while Alex Donno will host 6-10pm. PBRTV.com reports on some names let go in Pittsburgh. Morning co-host Jimmy Roach is out at Country “Y108” 107.9 WDSY. Hot AC “100.7 Star” WBZZ loses veteran midday host Scott Alexander and night host Lindsay. CBS Cuts Adding Up

While attention was made to Clear Channel’s wide-scale layoffs on December 6, it seems that CBS has quietly been making staff cuts as well. Update 1/2: A few more cuts have become public since our first report: Dallas – AC “103.7 Lite-FM” KVIL morning team Gene & Julie did not have their contracts renewed. Middayer Tony Zazza replaces them. New York – WCBS-FM APD Lenny Bloch departs. His voicetracked overnight shift was replaced with a live shift hosted by Dave Stewart, formerly of 95.5 WPLJ. Did CBS Protect Itself From FM Sports Competition In Detroit?

Earlier today CBS announced it has signed a five year extension to keep University of Michigan sports in its Detroit cluster. As part of the deal Wolverines football and men’s basketball will shift from Classic Hits 104.3 WOMC to News 950 WWJ. With less than four weeks to go before the start of the college football season, Michigan took its time to get the best deal. CBS may have had extra incentive to make sure they kept the rights to UM’s sports. Both Greater Media and Clear Channel may have used the Wolverines to launch a direct FM competitor to CBS’ 97.1 The Ticket.
