Jack Taddeo has announced he will be exiting his position as Market Manager for NRG Media’s Waterloo IA cluster to take a new position at a company yet to be named later this month. In a press statement Taddeo wrote, “I’ve enjoyed working for NRG Media and am very grateful to Chuck DuCoty for hiring me, to Mary Quass for her support during the past 3+ years, and to the great staff I have worked with here. I look forward to seeing everyone in Minneapolis at Conclave 43 next week and I’ll have news of my new position very soon.” Also departing NRG Media is Kurt Luchs after just four months as General Manager of its Omaha cluster. WRVM will convert both stations to non-commercial simulcasts of Christian 102.7 WRVM Suring WI. Broadway Media sells Silent 107.9 KAOX Shelley/Idaho Falls ID to Frandsen Media for $25,000. Back in 2009, Radio Training Network's "93.3 The Joy-FM" WVFJ-FM Manchester GA, Rome Radio Partners' 93.5 WSRM Coosa GA and Cox Media Urban AC "Kiss 104.1" WALR-FM Greenville GA filed contingent applications to modify their facilities. The moves would see WVFJ-FM change city-of-license to Greenville while upgrading from a Class C1 to C0, WSRM move to a new tower site with a directional antenna to protect WVFJ-FM, and WALR-FM downgrade from a C0 to C1 while changing city-of-license to Palmetto. After a series of application modifications and objections the FCC has finally ruled on what can proceed.
Rich Broadcasting has added three more signals to News/Talk 590 KID Idaho Falls/92.1 KIDG Pocatello ID. 106.3 KQEZ Rexburg/Idaho Falls has dropped its Soft AC “EZ Rock Radio” format to simulcast KID under new KIDJ call letters. Additionally the former “ESPN 1340” KSGT/96.3 K242BU Jackson WY will bring the format to the Jackson Hole market. KID features a local morning show hosted by Neal Larson, who doubles as Program Director for the station. The rest of the day includes syndicated talkers including Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, and Michael Savage. The buyers are made up of the owners and management team of Iowa based construction company The Rasmussen Group. After beginning to operate AAA 91.9 WNTI Hackettstown NJ in October, The University of Pennsylvania has filed its deal to purchase the station for $1.25 million with up to $250,000 potentially subtracted to pay for costs incurred in relocating the station’s tower site. Divine Word Communications is converting its brokering of 1330 WCVC Tallahassee FL to a purchase from WCVC Inc. for $10,000. The FCC has denied Hope Christian Church of Marlton’s attempt to move 105.7 W289AZ Trenton, NJ to the tower site of Davidson Media’s “Mega 1310” WEMG Camden, NJ/Philadelphia, which would’ve become the originating station for the translator. The move would’ve required W289AZ to move approximately 25km to a location with zero overlap with the currently approved signal contours for the translator utilizing the “Mattoon Waiver”. Sandhill Radio Group’s CHR “Sunny 94.3” KSNA Rexburg/Idaho Falls, ID has shifted to 100.7 and relaunched as Adult CHR “100.7 My-FM“. The move was necessitated by a pair of station upgrades locally as part of a larger frequency shuffle throughout the Intermountain West. The license of 99.1 KUPI was shifted to 100.7, while 94.3 upgraded from a 43kw Class C2 to a 100kw C1 on 99.1. To maintain consistency with programming, the Country format of KUPI remained on its familiar frequency.
