Station Sales Week Of 3/2: Jazz Hall Of Fame Takes Birmingham Non-Comm

Samford University is selling its Jazz 91.1 WVSU-FM Birmingham AL to The Jazz Hall of Fame of Alabama for $50,000. The buyer, led by Bishop James Lowe has begun programming the station through a Programming Services Agreement. Samford will also receive up to 1200 minutes a year for ten years for marketing and event announcements and half of those minutes can be carried over into the next year. The buyer will change WVSU-FM’s call letters within six months of closing. Federated Media’s Talking Stick Communications sells Sports “ESPN 106.7” WFGA Hicksville OH to Swick Broadcasting for $300,000. Salem Acquires Radio Disney’s Final Five

The final five stations left to be sold by Radio Disney will go to multiple holding companies of Salem Communications for a combined $2.225 million. 1260 WSDZ Belleville, IL will be Salem’s only station in the St. Louis market for $275,000 under Caron Broadcasting. 1380 WWMI St. Petersburg, FL will become Salem’s fifth AM in the Tampa market for $750,000 as it goes to South Texas Broadcasting. 1440 KDIZ Golden Valley, MN becomes Salem’s fourth AM in the Minneapolis/St. Paul market as it goes to Common Ground Broadcasting for $375,000. 1640 KDZR Lake Oswego/Portland, OR goes to Salem Media of Oregon for $275,000. Horizon Broadcasting Group is transferring impending Portland move-in 96.3 KWLZ-FM West Linn, OR to 3 Horizons LLC, a partnership between Horizon and 3 Cities Broadcasting. 3 Cities owns AC “Mixx 96.1” KXXO Olympia/Tacoma, WA, which is required to build a new facility before KWLZ-FM moves into the Portland market. Brooke & Jubal Get Syndicated To Portland

Alpha Media CHR “Live 95.5” KBFF Portland will begin airing the Brooke & Jubal morning show based at Hubbard’s “Movin 92.5” KQMV Seattle on Monday, April 27. Hosted by Brooke Fox and Jubal Flagg, the show is also part of the syndicated “Dish Nation” television show. Fox previously worked in the Portland market as MD/Morning Co-Host at crosstown CHR “Z100” KKRZ in the mid-2000’s. No word yet on the status of current morning hosts Bryan Laroche and Hannah Byrom.
