Update 10/29: After stunting with the CHR “Radio Yummy” loop, KRML flipped to a broad/eclectic AAA format at 8am today. Weekend programming will feature local specialty Talk shows.

The previous Jazz/Blues format will continue online as the first in a suite of webcasters the station plans to launch.

Original Report 10/25: 1410 KRML Carmel CA, the station made famous for its inclusion in the 1971 Clint Eastwood movie “Play Misty For Me” has dropped its longtime Jazz/Blues format.

The station is currently running which appears to be a stunt CHR format as “Radio Yummy 102.1” emphasizing the frequency of its FM translator. The station is running the same 10 songs over and over again branded as “Your Hits Over And Over And Over Again”.

Scot McKay acquired KRML from the bank that had foreclosed on it from its previous owner in the Summer of 2011 for $150,000 and later acquired the translator to bring the station to FM from One Ministries for $95,000.

KRML operates with 500 watts daytime and just 16 watts at night. 102.1 K271BP runs with 105 watts putting a city grade signal over neighboring Monterey and Seaside as well as Carmel.
