Marker Broadcasting made the flip of 102.3 KJJZ to Classic Rock “Q102.3” this morning. New KRHQ call letters are pending.
The new format is being constructed by longtime KQRS Minneapolis Operations Manager/Program Director Dave Hamilton. Hamilton retired from Cumulus Minneapolis in 2012 after 27 years at KQRS and had been out of radio since.
Original Report 2/18: Marker Broadcasting Smooth Jazz 102.3 KJJZ Indio/Palm Springs is on the verge of a flip to Classic Rock as “Q102“.
Marker registered Q1023FM.com and Q102Classic.com yesterday with the former redirecting to a splash page with the new logo and this promotional video.
KJJZ dropped from a 3.3 share in the Fall 2013 Nielsen Audio ratings to a 1.6 in Fall 2014. The new format will position KJJZ between Morris Communication’s combo of Classic Hits “The Eagle 106.9” KDGL and Active Rock 93.7 KCLB.
