Fred Manning’s Manning Media is expanding his holdings in Hagerstown MD as it purchases Verstandig Broadcasting’s three properties.
Manning will acquire Rock “92.1 Bob Rocks” WBHB Mercersburg PA, Country 101.5 WAYZ Waynesboro PA, and Hot AC “100.9 Next-FM” 1380 WIKG/W265DU Waynesboro for $700,000. The stations will join Manning’s existing stations in the market: Classic Hits “106.9 The Eagle” WWEG Myersville, News/Talk 1490 WARK/98.9 W255CP Hagerstown and 106.3 W292FR Frederick, Classic Country “Max Country” 93.5 W228AM Frederick/100.5 W263CR Halfway/Hagerstown fed by WWEG-HD3, and Soft Oldies “Fred-FM” 94.3 W232DG Frederick/102.1 W271BV Hagerstown/106.9 WWEG-HD2. The company also owns the Frederick targeted Hot AC “Key 103” WAFY Middletown.
The sale completes the exit of Verstandig from radio. The company sold the license of 104.7 WAYZ to Brighter Media Group for $3.1 million last year. The company sold its Harrisonburg VA cluster to Saga back in 2015.
