Garton, who was also APD/MD of WLYF, had spent 34 years at WLYF. It will take two people to succeed her. Brand Manager Michelle Stevens said, “Gayle’s impact goes far beyond the music she played or the hours she spent behind the microphone. Gayle helped define what LITE means to South Florida, she’s our Matriarch and we are incredibly grateful for everything she has given our listeners, our station and our team. While no one can ever truly replace a legacy like hers, we are honored to build on the incredible foundation she left behind. As we move forward, we couldn’t be more excited to welcome Ashley and Jess to the “Lite Team.”
Former Alternative “104.3 The Shark” WSFS morning host ‘Ashley O’ Owen returns to the cluster to take middays from 10am-3pm. She joined WSFS shortly after its 2015 flip to Alternative and hosted mornings from 2016 until 2020 and again from March 2023 until the station’s flip to Sports last August. She also tracked mornings at Alternative “FM 105.9” WOCL Orlando. Prior to joining The Shark, she served in multiple on-air and production roles at Cox’s Miami cluster.
She said, “I’m excited to host middays on LITE. I grew up listening to Gayle, and am honored they are passing the baton to me.”
“Mix 105.1” WOMX Orlando midday host Jessica Bonilla will add afternoons at WLYF. Bonilla has been part of the CBS Radio turned Audacy cluster since 200 rising from promotions to holding on-air roles at stations including WOMX, Alternative “O-Rock 105.9” turned Classic Hits “105.9 Sunny-FM” WOCL, and Rhythmic CHR “102 Jamz” WJHM turned CHR “101.9 Amp Radio” WQMP turned Alternative “FM 101.9“.
Bonilla commented, ““Afternoons in Miami? What could be better!”
Julie Guy and Tamara G remain in mornings and John Tesh at night.
