This is an inevitable reality that I think even Dave Hughes pondered months ago. It first came to fruition when I saw CBS morning news spotlight and the dc anchor at the end says she wants to listen and the reply is “he isn’t on mornings here.” I had a feeling after that, the boxer show would be reexamined. I finally got to listen for the first time this week, it’s pretty decent but they better not mess with Laura or delmont from the other station. Now here’s my prediction, its also an inevitable reality now that CC’s chess piece was played, that cumulus will respond with a move to Nash fm. Personally i think breaking the simulcast would make a better sales combo, but another reality is that its hard to have a combo when 107.3 sounds like an ac station in an identity crisis. It just makes more sense to have nash on 107.3 and just give the frequency a makeover because its national image is thrown right out there. as opposed to their under the table Atlanta syndication initiative that they have during the duration of the station, which has done nothing but showed listeners, this fresh fm station sounds pretty much like mix used to be! though for what its worth, I think Adam Bomb is talented, but hot 99.5 owns that demographic and they can thank Kane for that.
