Translator Sales

Radio Station Translator Sales Evolution 93.5 104.7 Miami Zoo CommunicationsZoo Communications is acquiring Silent 94.1 W231CU Miami from Charles Crawford for $650,000. Zoo, operated by Marco Mazzoli, runs iHeartMedia owned Dance “Evolution 93.5” W228BY Miami/WHYI-HD2 and is in the process of purchasing 93.5 WZFL Islamorada. W231CU holds a Construction Permit to move to 104.7 with 99 watts at 230 meters where it will also rebroadcast WHYI-HD2 extending the 93.5 coverage to include North Miami and Hollywood, FL areas (Coverage Map).

Liberty University is selling two Virginia translators to national broadcasters. 104.1 W281AW Petersburg will go to Radio-One for $75,000. A concurrent application will increase its power from 6 to 250 watts rebroadcasting Urban Talk 1240 WTPS Petersburg.

Saga Communications will expand its newly acquired Harrisonburg, VA cluster with the addition of 100.3 W262BK Waynesboro for $30,000. W262BK will rebroadcast an HD subchannel of 100.7 WQPO Harrisonburg also with an application to increase from 7 to 250 watts. Liberty and Saga have a pending deal to swap 95.5 WBOP Mount Jackson to Liberty for 101.3 W267BA Harrisonburg.

Just east of Tuscaloosa, Educational Media Foundation is selling 96.1 W241BT Vance, AL to TTI, Inc. for $40,000. TTI will rebroadcast iHeartMedia’s 98.1 WTXT-HD2 on the translator.

Pilati Investments Corp. acquires 92.9 W225BO Hillsboro, AL from James Henderson for $17,000. W225BO will rebroadcast Way Media’s 88.1 WAYH Harvest/Huntsville.

Community Education Foundation is transferring 102.7 K274CQ St. George, UT to Community Translator Network, LLC as part of a restructuring. The new licensee is a wholly owned subsidiary of Community Education Foundation.

Ted Austin is trading Silent 100.1 K261DB St. Anthony/Rexburg, ID to Riverbend Communications for the CP of 105.9 K290CA West Yellowstone, MT and $23,000. K261DB will rebroadcast News/Talk 1260 KEIR Idaho Falls.

Austin also sells 104.7 K284BI Alpine, WY to SVI Media for $5,000. SVI will utilize the translator to rebroadcast their pending acquisition of 1490 KJNT Jackson Hole, which they are also purchasing from Austin.

West Central Michigan Media Ministries will purchase 91.9 W220DP Ironwood, MI from WRVM, Inc. for $4,000. W220DP will rebroadcast the buyer’s “Strong Tower Radio” 91.9 WGCP Cadillac.

Great Plains Christian Radio sells 93.3 K227CX Manhattan, KS to Manhattan Broadcasting Company for $22,000. K227CX will rebroadcast CHR “Z96.3” KACZ Riley.

Station Sales

The Estate of Russell Withers, Jr. is transferring all of Withers Broadcasting’s properties to his daughter Dana Withers. Following the closure of the transaction, Ms. Withers will own 39 radio stations and three television stations in Kentucky, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Missouri, and West Virginia including clusters in Cape Girardeau, Marion/Carbondale and Paducah.

A week after taking 96.7 WSGC Elberton, GA dark, Georgia-Carolina Radiocasting is selling sisters 1400 WSGC/105.3 W287CM Elberton to James Scott Smith’s Radio Elberton for $100,000.

Smith’s Rome Radio, LLC is also selling Country “South 93.5” WSRM Coosa/Rome, GA to the Howard Toole run Rome Radio Partners for $200,000. Smith holds a 19% stake in the buyer, which has operated the station via LMA. In addition to his ownership stakes in these stations, Smith is Vice President & Director of Radio Technology for Cox Media.

Flood Communications is purchasing Oldies 1310 KGMT Fairbury, Country 99.5 KUTT Fairbury, and Classic Hits 1450 KWBE Beatrice, NE from Siebert Broadcasting for $7 million.

Tomlinson-Leis Broadcasting is acquiring two Markham, TX licenses from different companies held buy Richard Witkovski. Classic Hits “Happy Radio 92.5” KKHA Markham goes from Edwards Broadcasting Company to Tomlinson-Leis for $257,860, while Witko Broadcasting sells the CP for 104.5 KBYC Markham for $126,400. Tomlinson-Leis is also restructuring its ownership of 1450 KNET/95.7 K239AM/98.3 KYYK Palestine as the 55% stake of Dorvin Leis is transferred to an irrevocable trust following his death last month.

High Plains Radio Network is selling Texas Country/Classic Rock “Cowboy 98.5” KWBY-FM Ranger, TX
to Terry Slaven’s For The Love Of The Game Broadcasting for $450,000. The buyer began operating KWBY-FM via LMA on July 1.

Real Presence Radio is purchasing Talk 820 WBKK Wilton, MN for $225,000. Real Presence operates a network of Catholic programmed stations in North and South Dakota.

Mediatrix SC sells Catholic 810 WQIZ St. George/Charleston, SC to Grace Baptist Church of Orangeburg for $50,000.

Kentucky Mountain Bible College purchases Talk 1470 WBFC Stanton, KY from Combs Broadcasting for $121,000. Kentucky Mountain Bible College began operating the station via Time Brokerage Agreement on June 1.
