As we first reported on June 22, iHeartMedia has flipped Hot AC “B93” 92.9 KOSO Patterson/Modesto CA to Country “92.9 The Big Dog“.
The new format takes on Cumulus’ market-leading “Kat Country 103” KATM and one of the domains iHeart had registered was the pretty direct KatKiller929.com. The new station’s lineup will be led by the syndicated Bobby Bones in mornings, “102.7 The Wolf” KHGE Fresno afternoon host Greg Lane in middays, Christina Martinez in afternoons, and CMT Live with Cody Alan at night.

Kat Country should have nothing to worry about; Kat’s signal is far stronger and has more range than Dog’show, Dog is going the traditional Cheap Channel route and using out of market voice tracked DJ’s, and Kat is a top rated station. The Dog will be put to sleep after a year or two
Then why are iHeart stations still top-rated in most markets? Perhaps they’re giving the public what it wants.
