Wilks Broadcasting Classic Country “95.5 The Hawk” WHOK-FM Columbus, OH will revert to its former “K95.5” moniker on Monday, January 16.
Along with the name change the station will revamp its music in a more mainstream direction. Afternoon host Jocephus will shift to mornings where he will be paired with Lex McAlister. Current morning co-host/middayer Miss Lisa will slide to a daypart to be announced.
WHOK used the K95.5 moniker until January 2007, when Wilks acquired the station from CBS. The station is the second ranked of four Country stations in the Columbus market with a 3.0 share in December. Clear Channel’s 92.3 WCOL led the market with a 10.5. “T100” 100.3 WCLT Newark, OH follows with a 2.0 and WHOK’s sister “Wink 107.1” WNKK with a 1.1.
