Update 7/31: After a week of looping nothing but Rick Astley, CIND debuted its “Indie 88” format at noon today. Following a launch package asking listeners for input on what to play, the station launched with Arcade Fire’s “Ready To Start”, MGMT “Electric Feel”, July Talk “Paper Girl”, Pixies “Where Is My Mind”, and Broken Social Scene “7/4 (Shoreline)”.
In addition to serving as Music Guidance Counselor, Alan Cross will serve as imaging voice of the station. while Brian Bailey will host mornings.

Update 7/25: A day after beginning testing, CIND has announced that its permanent format will debut on Wednesday, July 31 at 12:00pm.
Original Report 7/24: Central Ontario Broadcasting has signed-on 88.1 CIND Toronto.
The new station is currently testing with a loop of Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up”. It will begin regular programming as Adult Alternative “Indie 88.1” next week.
CIND was licensed by the CRTC last September. Its programming will consist of independent and emerging Canadian artists. 40% of the music programming is required to be Canadian Content, with 60% of that from emerging artists.
The station has recently brought on Alan Cross as Music Guidance Counselor and CBC Radio 3 afternoon host Raina Douris as Music Director and afternoon host under Program Director Adam Thompson.
