Clear Channel has flipped Alternative “Project 99.1” K256AE Provo/99.5 KJMY-HD2 Bountiful, UT to Country.
“Country 99.1” launched this morning with the Bobby Bones show. The station becomes the fourth Country station in the Salt Lake City market although the only one superserving the Provo area as it joins KSOP’s “Z104.3” KSOP-FM, Cumulus’ “K-Bull 93” KUBL, and Broadway Media’s “101.5 The Eagle” KEGA.
K256AE held a 0.3 share of the market in the April 2014 PPMs.
Hmm.. I’ll have to listen. Several years ago CC put Country on 105.7 and it only lasted a few months. It was modeled after My99.5 being fully automated with auto backsells on each song. I wonder if being on a smaller station with a similar approach (if they take that approach) will work better than on a full market signal. I’m still waiting for 103.1 to flip to Sunny, though…
