Update 8/31: KYOT has completed its rebranding as “Eva 95.5“. Former KZZP morning host Chino will take over mornings, presumably voicetracked from his current spot at KPTT Denver. Current morning host Melissa Sharpe shifts to middays. Sana G from KMEL San Francisco will voicetrack afternoons, while Sylvia Chacon from KISQ San Francisco will voicetrack nights.

Update 8/29: KYOT is promoting on-air that it will unveil its new name on Wednesday, August 31 at 5:00pm. We grabbed the new “Eva 95.5” logo seen here from Clear Channel’s logo server.
Original Report 8/23: Over the course of 2011, 95.5 KYOT Phoenix has evolved from its longtime Smooth Jazz position to Rhythmic Oldies.
Now the station is preparing to take the next step in its evolution by holding a name the station poll. The options, supposedly selected by listeners, are as follows: Jan Radio, KJAM, Key 95.5, EVA, The ONE, 95.5 Soulful Vibrations, The Sound of Praise, Smooth Groove, The WOW, and Cruzzin’ 95.5.
Currently branded as “The Valley’s Old School 95.5“, it appears that Eva will be the chosen name for what was once The Coyote. Eva955.com and EvaOn955.com were both registered by Clear Channel’s registrar in early June.
With Labor Day approaching, we’re willing to be we’ll see this rebranding take place going into the holiday weekend.
