Update 3/7: KWNW rebranded to “101.9 Kiss-FM” at 5pm today.
After signing off Radio Now with Boys II Men’s “It’s So Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday”, the station faked a flip to Country for a minute leading into its relaunch as “Kiss-FM“.
The only change to the station’s on-air lineup which features The Kane Show in mornings is the addition of Carson from 2-4pm. Ryan Seacrest will remain from 10am to 2pm, PD Kobe shifts to 4-7pm and Brodee in nights.
Original Report 3/6: Clear Channel has registered KissMemphis.com in preparation of bringing the brand name back to the market.
In recent months Clear Channel has rebranded their “Radio Now” stations in Greensboro and Jacksonville as “Kiss-FM” so it likely will be CHR “101.9 Radio Now” KWNW Crawfordsville, AR that will be getting relaunched with the Kiss moniker.
KWNW has hovered near the bottom of the Memphis market ratings since moving into the market in September 2010, registering a 1.5 share in the January 2014 PPM ratings. The Kiss brand was last used in the market in 2001 when Flinn’s “Kiss 107.5” WKSL flipped out of the format. That station is now KWNW’s direct format competitor “Q107.5” WHBQ-FM.
