Update 9/5: As expected, WUJM flipped to Country “96.7 The Bull” at 5:00pm today.
The new format is being positioned as “The Gulf Coast’s New Hit Country Station” with a younger skew. Launching with 10,000 songs in a row, the Bull’s first was Kenny Chesney’s “American Kids”.
Mark ‘Tic Tak’ Allen has been named Program Director for The Bull. He rejoins Alpha after previously working at sister “98.7 The Bull” KUPL Portland.
Alpha has applied for new WGBL call letters for The Bull.

Original Report 9/3: Alpha Media is shuffling some of its properties in Biloxi.
96.7 WUJM Gulfport has dropped its Sports “96.7 The Champ” format and is stunting with a robotic countdown clock to Friday, September 5 at 5:00pm. The Sports format remains on previous simulcasters 1490 WXBD and 1640 WTNI Biloxi.
A recent domain registration for 967TheBull.com was recently transferred to the servers of a Gulfport based web design firm. A move to Country would place WUJM in competition with Dowdy Broadcasting’s market leading “Kicker 108” 107.9 WZKX Bay St. Louis and Clear Channel’s “K99” 99.1 WKNN-FM Pascagoula.
WUJM held a mere 0.8 share in the Spring 2014 Nielsen Audio ratings.
