WWIZ flipped to Oldies at 12pm today as “Z104“.
The station is utilizing Westwood One’s 1960s/1970s based “Good Time Oldies” satellite feed.
Original Report 4/1 11:20am: Stunting has begun at Cumulus Active Rock “Rock 104” 103.9 WWIZ West Middlesex PA/Youngstown OH.
Since Friday afternoon the station has been looping Moody Blues “Nights In White Satin” and Royal Guardsmen “Snoopy Vs. The Red Baron” with just a legal ID between the songs. The station’s social media accounts have been purged and the website redirects to OldiesZ104.com with a “Please Stand By” message.
The domain was registered on Friday and points to bringing an Oldies/Classic Hits format back to Youngstown for the first time since iHeartMedia’s 106.1 WBBG flipped to Country in April 2016. WWIZ had a 1.3 share of the Youngstown market in the Fall 2016 Nielsen Audio ratings.
No members of the airstaff will be affected should the format change as all voicetracked from other markets including “Rock 103” WXZZ Lexington KY morning host Twitch.
Just switch to Z104.
They’ve officially flipped to Classic Hits around Noon on 4/1 and they’re going by Z104 for its on-air name.
