Lance Ventaby Lance Venta
June 8, 2017

Aaron Trimmer 550 KFYI 1230 KOY Fox Sports 910 KGME Phoenix 1140 WRVA RichmondiHeartMedia has named Aaron Trimmer as its new Program Director for Talk 550 KFYI, “KFYI 2” 1230 KOY, and Sports “Fox Sports 910” KGME Phoenix.

Trimmer comes to Phoenix from iHeartMedia’s Richmond VA cluster where he programmed News/Talk 1140 WRVA and “Fox Sports 910” WRNL. He has also programmed for the company in Birmingham, Huntsville AL, and Syracuse NY.

Trimmer replaces Neil Larrimore who exits after 5 1/2 years as Director of Spoken Word Programming for the company’s Phoenix stations.

iHeartMedia Phoenix announced today that Aaron Trimmer has been named Program Director for 550 KYFI, The Most Trusted News in Phoenix; Fox Sports 910 Phoenix, The Biggest Names in Sports; and KYFI 2, The Next Generation of Talk Radio, effective July 5. iHeartMedia Phoenix has a strong cross-platform presence and includes a number of iconic brands and franchises — both broadcast and digital — including 99.9 KEZ, MIX 96.9, 104.7 KISS FM, 102.5 KNIX, 95.5 The Mountain, 550 KYFI, Fox Sports 910 Phoenix, and KYFI 2.

iHeartMedia has massive consumer reach and influence across multiple platforms and delivers more live programming than any other media company. Trimmer will work closely with on-air personalities and sales to oversee the station brands’ on-air and digital news programming, as well as local events and partnerships.

“We’re excited to have Aaron bring his experiences out West,” said Steve Geofferies, Executive Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia’s West Division. “His track record speaks for itself, from brand execution to talent coaching, he’s a tremendous resource for our stations in the Arizona Region.”

Trimmer previously worked as the Program Director for Newsradio 1140 WRVA, Fox Sports 910 and Virginia News Network, where he worked with on-air personalities and sales to oversee the stations’ on-air and digital music programming. He also served as the Program Director for NewsRadio WHAM 1180, 570 WSYR and Fox Sports 1280; Program Director for News Radio 105.5 WERC and Alabama Radio Network; and Program Director for NewsRadio 630 WLAP.

“I am beyond excited to work with the iHeartMedia team in Phoenix,” said Trimmer. “There’s a tremendous amount of talent with their spoken word brands and I look forward to leading the team and community to new heights.”

iHeartMedia is a leading media outlet in the Phoenix market and its content is available across multiple platforms, including its broadcast stations; online via its branded digital sites; mobile; and social, with nationwide listening through iHeartRadio, the all-in-one streaming music and live radio service – with its more than a billion downloads and 100 million registered users.
