Bloomberg Moving To 1330/106.1 In Boston

Lance Ventaby Lance Venta
July 3, 2017

Bloomberg Radio 1330 WRCA 106.1 W291CZ BostonBloomberg Radio has announced it will launch on Beasley Media’s 1330 WRCA Watertown/106.1 W291CZ Boston as well as 92.9 WBOS-HD2 Brookline on Tuesday, July 4 at 12:00pm.

Bloomberg Radio currently airs in the Boston market on iHeartMedia’s 1200 WXKS Newton/94.5 WJMN-HD2 and that will also continue for the next few months. Bloomberg Radio also airs on a 24/7 basis on its owned 1130 WBBR New York, CBS Radio’s 99.1 WDCH Bowie MD/Washington DC, and iHeartMedia’s 960 KNEW San Francisco.

1330 WRCA dropped its brokered lineup at the end of 2016 to prepare to relaunch with the 106.1 translator. W291CZ signed-on in May and both stations have been rebroadcasting the Irish programming of 96.9 WBQT-HD2 as filler since.

Beasley purchased what would become W291CZ from Radio One in July 2016 for $400,000.

Bloomberg Radio, the world’s only global 24-hour business and radio station, in conjunction with Beasley Media Group, Inc., a subsidiary of Beasley Broadcast Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: BBGI), announced that starting tomorrow July 4th at 12:00pm ET, Bloomberg Radio can now be heard on Beasley Media Group’s 106.1FM, WRCA 1330 AM and 92.9/WBOS-FM HD2. Bloomberg Radio will continue to broadcast on WXKS 1200AM/94.5FM-HD2 for the next few months.

“We have been eager to expand our presence in the Boston area to deliver the best of Bloomberg Radio to this important market of those who manage money, move markets and shape the future of global business and the innovations of tomorrow,” said Al Mayers, Global Head of Bloomberg Radio and Television.

“We’re excited to partner with a global news and business leader of Bloomberg’s magnitude,” said Beasley Media Boston Vice President and Market Manager Mary Menna. “This unique programming underscores the company’s commitment to providing our listeners with the very best content and compliments our five existing music brands in Boston.”

Listeners will also be able to tune in to Bloomberg’s broadcast of the 2017 Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular, tomorrow at 8:00pm ET. Bloomberg is the exclusive media partner of this year’s concert.

Powered by more than 2,700 journalists and analysts in more than 120 countries, Bloomberg Radio’s resources are unparalleled. In addition to Boston, Bloomberg can be heard on its three other flagship radio stations in New York, Washington, D.C. and San Francisco. Bloomberg shows and short form reports are also heard on over 300 top radio stations across the United States, including leading all-news radio stations in major cities from coast to coast. Bloomberg Radio can also be heard nationally on SiriusXM satellite radio channel 119, and internationally streaming live on the Internet and the Bloomberg Radio+ mobile app.

What will eventually air on WXKS-1200??

Might iHeart move their talk format of WKOX-1430 back to 1200, perhaps with a national morning show and “Coast To Coast A.M.” moving over from WRKO-680, and put Fox Sports Radio 24/7 fulltime on 1430??
