The Cesar Chavez Foundation’s Farmworker Educational Radio Network is continuing its growth in Phoenix with the purchase of Southwest FM Broacasting’s Beautiful Music 102.1 KAHM and 101.7 K269EE Prescott and Southwest Broadcasting’s Talk 1490 KYCA/97.1 K246BI/103.5 K278CN Prescott AZ for $2.5 million through a new Phoenix Radio Broadcasting holding company.

The buyer will also take on the costs of those moves.
Combined with the combo of recently acquired 860 KNAI Phoenix and 101.9 K270BZ Phoenix will allow the group to cover the entire Phoenix market with full-time commercial signals for its Regional Mexican “La Campesina” network as opposed to its current noncommercial time-share on 88.3 KNAI-FM. The sale of KAHM eliminates one of the last remaining Beautiful Music stations.
