Woof Boom Radio closed on its $608,000 acquisition of 106.7 WKHL West Lafayette IN from Educational Media Foundation and has flipped the station to AC “Q106.7” WLQQ.
Launching at 1:06pm this afternoon, the new station is positioning as “The Best of Yesterday and Today”. Lafayette did not have an Adult Contemporary station superserving its market, but Kaspar Broadcasting’s “Shine 99” 99.7 WSHW Frankfort covers the Lafayette market along with adjacent Kokomo and the northern Indianapolis suburbs.
No airstaff or programming details have been released.
It’s not every day that a brand new station is created by and for the people who will hear it on a daily basis, but that’s exactly what the All New Q 106-7 is in Lafayette, Indiana.
?For months, Managing Partner, Jim Stone, has been talking with business owners and potential listeners alike to gather what’s important to them in a local radio station – and today, he is delivering on that.
Q 106-7 The Best of Yesterday and Today is going to be the only station of its kind in the Lafayette area – both in its format and in its hyper local feel.
“It’s a special day at our showcase studio on Main Street,” starts Jim Stone, “locally owned and operated radio is back in Lafayette! Today is the beginning of what I hope will be a great relationship with the Community. Every day we will work to evolve and mold a radio station that serves the people of Lafayette and West Lafayette.”
