WCZX relaunched as Adult CHR “Now 97.7” this morning.
The relaunch came with the debut of the syndicated Brooke & Jubal in mornings. The KQMV Seattle based show will be followed by Program Director Reg in middays as he changes his on-air name from his previous Rick Knight. Former morning co-host Taylor Dickson moves to afternoons and Townsquare’s Pop Crush Nights with Lisa Paige remains in evenings.
Original Report 3/9: Townsquare Media Hot AC “Mix 97.7” WCZX Hyde Park/Poughkeepsie NY is stunting with a broad variety of songs that all have the word “Now” or the Spanish “Ahora” in the title.
The move follows the exit a couple weeks ago of longtime morning host Marc Bolger. The station is promoting a new format, morning show, and money giveaway to take place on Monday, March 12 at 7:00am.
A rebranding as “Now” would seem to indicate a Hotter version of Hot AC or a move to CHR. The latter would place the station in competition with Pamal Broadcasting’s “K104.7” WSPK and iHeartMedia’s “96.1 Kiss-FM” WPKF.
