Entercom Alternative “Alt 105.3” KITS San Francisco has filled its vacant morning slot with the addition of Dan ‘Elvis Medina’ Lay starting Wednesday, May 30.
Medina is best known in the market for his long run with Jeff ‘JV’ Vandergrift from 1993-2007 on “Hot 97.7” KHQT, “Wild 107.7” and “Wild 94.9” KYLD, and “106.9 Free-FM” KIFR. After moving to New York to host late mornings on “92.3 Free-FM” WFNY-FM the duo were fired for a prank gone awry. After their exit from WFNY-FM, Lay bounced around other Bay Area stations including 92.7 KREV and 101.7 KKIQ. Vandergrift and Lay reunited in 2015 to host an afternoon talk show on 910 KKSF and then as a podcast.
KITS has been jockless in mornings since the station rebranded from “Live 105” in December.
