Former 102.5 KSFM Sacramento MD/Afternoon host Eliseo ‘Short-E’ Cierra has been appointed Program Director for iHeartMedia Hot AC “Y100.1” WZJZ Port Charlotte and Rhythmic CHR “105.5 The Beat” Naples Park/Fort Myers FL.
Cierra served as Music Director and afternoon host at KSFM until this past April. He previously spent eight years at 103.5 KBMB/KHHM Sacramento. In addition to programming the two stations he will also serve as afternoon host on WBTT.
He fills the opening created by Eric Rosado’s move to 93.3 KUBE Seattle as APD/Afternoon host in May.
iHeartMedia announced today that Eliseo “Short-E” Cierra has been named Program Director for 105.5 The Beat, Southwest Florida’s Party Station, and Y100.1, ‘90s To Now, effective immediately. iHeartMedia Fort Myers has a strong cross-platform presence and includes a number of iconic brands and franchises — both broadcast and digital — encompassing four music format stations.
iHeartMedia has the leading consumer reach and influence across multiple platforms and delivers more live programming than any other media company. As Program Director, Short-E will be responsible for reviewing and determining all station content including music, daily and special programming, identifying and developing on-air talent and brand building for the two stations. Listeners will also hear Short-E on-air weekdays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on 105.5 The Beat. He will report to Louis Kaplan, Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia Fort Myers.
“I’m thrilled to welcome Short-E to iHeartMedia Fort Myers,” said Kaplan. “He genuinely understands our market and brings adept format experience and lively energy to our team. He’ll be leading two of our most popular brands, 105.5 The Beat, which has been a huge success for over 15 years, and Y100, the area’s home for the Elvis Duran Show, and I know his vast industry knowledge and creativity will take our stations to even higher levels.”
Short-E joins iHeartMedia Fort Myers from KSFM in Sacramento, California where he served as Music Director and On-Air Personality for four and a half years. He also served as an On-Air Personality and Music Director at KBMB and KHHM for eight years in the Sacramento region and graduated from Skyline College.
“I’m extremely excited to be a part of the winning culture here at iHeartMedia Fort Myers,” said Short-E. “This is an amazing opportunity to collaborate with some of radio’s most innovative talent. I feel a strong connection to the market and I’m excited to help contribute to each station’s ongoing success.”
