After a false start earlier this month in Du Quoin IL, we have our first annual flip to Christmas music.

Townsquare Media AC “100.5 The River” WTRV made the move at 9:00am on Monday morning. WTRV and iHeartMedia AC “Star 105.7” WSRW have been in a constant battle to beat each other to the holiday punch each year, but as of yet they have not been baited to follow suit. In the Summer 2018 Nielsen Audio ratings WSRW’s 4.0 share surpassed WTRV’s 2.9 share.

WTRV will soon be joined by many more stations as the calendar turns to November later this week. One such station will be Beasley Media’s “Detroit Oldies” 94.7 WCSX-HD2, which will make the move at 12am on Thursday.

(NASDAQ: BBGI) announces Detroit’s Oldies 94.7 HD2 will transform into 24/7 Christmas music, beginning at midnight on Thursday, November 1, 2018. The first song that will be played on the air will be the holiday classic, “It’s Beginning to Look A Lot like Christmas” by Johnny Mathis.

Listeners will be able to tune-in to hear their favorite holiday songs, like Bobby Helms “Jingle Bell Rock,” Bing Crosby’s “White Christmas,” Burl Ives’ “Holly Jolly Christmas,” Nat King Cole’s “The Christmas Song” and Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” on their HD radio at 94.7 HD2 throughout the holiday season.

Christmas on Detroit’s Oldies 94.7 HD2 will be a complete holiday experience, featuring continuous and uninterrupted Christmas music, adorned with Christmas history, kids who say the darndest things, favorite Christmas moments from our listeners and much more! In addition, there will be plenty of presents under Detroit’s Oldies Christmas tree that will be given away on the air throughout the season.
