While Entercom was busy changing formats at 98.7 WDZH Detroit, a Bigg change took place in mornings at Beasley Media Classic Hip-Hop “105.1 The Bounce” WMGC parted ways with morning host Bigg and moved the afternoon “Gello Show” into the daypart.
Bigg, the artist formerly known as Big Boy at WNKS Charlotte, KZMG Boise, WHBQ-FM Memphis, and WKQI Detroit and then Chunky at WNOW-FM New York, XHTZ San Diego, WRDW-FM Philadelphia, and KUPL Portland, joined WMGC in March 2017 while returning to his former Big Boy airname. A C&D by iHeartMedia due to the syndicated Big Boy Show quickly led to the renaming as Bigg. With his exit, co-host Shay Shay is moving to middays replacing Suga Rae. Deongello ‘Gello’ Vanorsby and co-host Joanna Tuttle will make the move to mornings starting next Monday.
iHeartMedia CHR “106.1 Kiss-FM” is getting back to normal business following its faked death. While still seeking “Seattle’s Funniest Person” to join their morning show, that person will become part of the Carla Marie & Anthony show. The former KPWK morning show had been hosting nights at KBKS until the stunting began last month. Former morning co-host Molly Mesnick will takeover middays, while Zann remains in nights. EJ, voicetracking from KIIS-FM Los Angeles, will host evenings. APD/MD and former midday host Zach ‘Mayhem’ Wellsandt will track overnights.
Dustin Kross has exited as Program Director of Cumulus CHR “Hot 93.3” KLIF-FM Haltom City/Dallas.
Kross joined KLIF-FM in January 2016 after serving as Assistant Program Director and Morning Host for “101.9 Amp Radio” WQMP Orlando and APD/afternoon host at “97.9 Kiss-FM” WKSL Jacksonville. His afternoon on-air shift was filled by the syndicated Tino Cochino Radio in late October.
