Sam Rogatinsky’s Gulf Coast Broadcasting has completed the relaunch of the three station cluster it acquired from Powell Broadcasting in Panama City FL.
“Classic Rock 95.9” WRBA Springfield has returned with its former format and identity. The station is now utilizing Suite Radio’s “The Rock” Classic Rock programming service featuring music of the 70s through early 90s.
Country “Kick’n 103.5” WKNK Callaway is now “103.5 Hank-FM” reverting to a brand the station previously utilized from 2009-2012. The station has moved to a gold based library featuring music from the 80s through today moving it from direct competition with iHeartMedia’s 92.5 WPAP to Magic Broadcasting’s “Wild Willie 100.1” WWLY.
Both station’s programming is distributed by Envision Networks along with sister Variety Hits “105.1 Bob-FM” WASJ Panama City Beach which relaunched in January. Gulf Coast Broadcasting acquired the three stations in December 2018 after Powell Broadcasting shut down operations in the market in the aftermath of Hurricane Michael.
SuiteRadio’s live hosted 24-hour radio format, The Rock, and HANK FM are bringing the cowboy boots and leather jackets as well as rock and country music to Panama City thanks to WRBA-FM “Classic Rock 95.9” and WKNK “Real Country 103.5 HANK FM.”
Listeners from the city with the most beautiful beaches in the world now have front row seats to a multi-generational format built on the greatest rock songs of the 70s, 80s and early 90s and nothing but REAL Country for the 80’s, 90’s, 00’s and today.
“As the new owner of HANK FM and The Rock, we’re looking forward to bringing quality formats and local content to Panama City and Bay County,” said owner Sam Rogatinsky. “We faced multiple hurdles getting these stations back up, but we’re now ready to have fun and we invite the local community to call us with feedback.”
