After running in “Preview Mode” for a month, Spoon River Media signed on 106.5 W293DR La Porte IN and officially launched as Classic Rock “Rock 106.5“.
Co-Owner Matt Moore told the La Porte County Herald Argus, “There was no other clear format that anybody in the area really wanted outside of classic rock, but they didn’t want just classic rock. They wanted classic rock that also played a little bit of ’90s and 2000s. We’re delivering.”
The station launched on Wednesday, June 12 at 1pm with the Rolling Stones’ “Start Me Up”.
Original Report 5/8: Spoon River Media Standards 1540 WLOI La Porte IN has flipped to Classic Rock in what is being called a “Sneak Preview” of what the station will be once its launches its new FM translator.
The station will soon launch 106.5 W293DR La Porte and become “Rock 106.5“. WLOI/W293DR will feature the syndicated Bob & Tom Show in mornings.
