Memphis Soul 104.1 Debuts

Memphis Soul 104.1 WMSO Tom JoynerFlinn Broadcasting has flipped Southern Gospel “Pop Gospel 104.1” 1240 WMSO Southaven MS/104.1 W281BR Memphis TN to R&B Oldies “Memphis Soul 104.1“.

Positioned as “A New Century of Soul”, the new format takes on iHeartMedia’s combo of market leading Urban AC “V101” 101.1 KJMS and 1070 WDIA. The new brand will also bring the Tom Joyner Morning Show back to Memphis for its final seven months. Joyner’s show was quietly dropped by KJMS in January in favor of a local show hosted by Mike Evans, Earle Augustus, and Stormy Taylor.

WMSO changed call letters from WAVN in March in preparation of this change.
