People Moves 8/30: iHeartMedia Departures In Raleigh, Seattle & Chicago
Major changes appear to be coming to iHeartMedia Raleigh where market SVP/Programming Chris Edge is out according to RAMP and Country Aircheck. Edge returned to the market in 2012 to oversee the cluster and program CHR “G105” WDCG and later added oversight of the Greensboro market in 2017 and the PD duties at Country “B93.9” WNCB last year. Edge previously programmed WDCG from 1999-2003 and later programmed CHR “Radio Now 93.1” WNOU Indianapolis and AAA 93.3 KGSR/Rock 93.7 KLBJ Austin for Emmis as well as overseeing digital operations for Emmis Austin and WRXP New York.
The bigger departure appears to be WDCG “Bob & The Showgram” namesake Bob Dumas, who is out after 27 years in mornings according to RAMP. Dumas joined WDCG in 1992 after a brief run in mornings at KHFI Austin with then co-host Mike Stiles and has since led the show with a continually updating series of co-hosts. As of this writing Dumas and Edge are both still listed on WDCG’s website and Dumas was heard in best-of clips on the show this morning.
