After joining Cumulus Media in February to host afternoons at Alternative “X105.1” KCJK Garden City/Kansas City, Afentra is no longer with the station.
Best known in the market for her sixteen years leading “Afentra’s Big Fat Morning Buzz” at Entercom’s “96.5 The Buzz” KRBZ Kansas City between 2002-2007 and then returning in 2008 until her firing in August 2018, she had helped KCJK overtake KRBZ in the ratings during her short tenure at the station. In the Holiday 2018 ratings period released prior to her hiring, KRBZ held a 3.0 share to KCJK’s 1.8 share. In the most recent monthly for August 2019, KCJK had risen to a 2.4 share while KRBZ had dropped to a 2.2.
